Dearest reader!
How did December come so quickly? I must say I love how things wind down in December and we actively get together with our communities to celebrate the year gone by. And even if it was a tough year, you are here, reading this, and there are many many people who love you, and you are pretty special to them (and people you may never have met).
I had a long train journey last week and before I left, I printed off a blank (page-a-month) calendar for 2024. I spent time on the train working out what my big goals and events are for the year and also what I can add that may be new to my diary.
I love love love planning, and I get such a thrill looking at my year nicely spaced out with highlights and tasks. It really does reduce the overwhelm, and if you are a ‘last minute’ type person, this is a brilliant activity to get you focused and maybe more prepared.
My book recommendation for December is…my own book :)
Goal Setting for Business
By Dawn A Denton (meeee!)
This book became a book in mid-2021. I was asked by the local town council to do a presentation for the small business community in December. When I asked what they would like, they suggested goal setting. I knew very little about it, but did some research and came up with a presentation and activities.
We had some nibbles and networked and afterwards a friend sent me a message to say that her hubby had been at the event and had gone home buzzing and inspired! I was sooo chuffed!
I was delivering my ‘Write a Non-Fiction Book’ course and thought I would write a book alongside the students, and as I scrolled through my laptop folders, I stumbled across the PowerPoint and thought I would use these as the foundation for a book.
And voila! My goal setting book was born!
Each chapter is short enough to consume in a few minutes, and there is an activity which you can do to assess your progress and consider ways to move forward. The activities could be something to think about or you can take some action and ‘put pen to paper’.
I really am quite proud of the simplicity of this book, and every time I feel stuck or a bit down, I pull it out and do an activity.
I do hope you enjoy it as much as I do (and did, putting it together).

Content Inspiration
You do amazing things! Yes, you do! You solve problems with your products or services. You have done all sorts of training in order to deliver a service or to create something to sell.
Your client has a 'journey' they 'travel' with you.
It could start with an exploratory phone call, or they buy something online from you. But, ultimately, they make contact and then ‘travel’ along with you, buying and hopefully repeating their business in the future.
In November, the Business Blitz Gold (paid) community, got some ideas about exploring their customer journey. (You can sign up for only £35 for the year before it goes up in 2024.)
Your Client / Customer Journey
Do you have a process you follow when working with someone? Have you developed your own?
Activity
Write a blog, LinkedIn article, or guest blog about this journey so that any potential client knows exactly what to expect. This gives them a sense of security and of course builds the 'know, like and trust' factor.
And then share the link on your social media channels. You want any potential customer / client to get excited about working with you, or buying from you.
It’s almost Christmas!
Do you know someone who is new to the business journey? Or have got stuck and not growing.
You can buy a gift subscription, which is a fab Christmas gift! And will be a gift that keeps on giving. Every week over the next year, your friend will receive an email with loads of valuable content to build and grow their business. You will be contributing to their success. And that’s such a wonderful thing to do…
Consider who you know will love it, and click on the link below:
It’s only £35 for 2024 if you buy before the end of December. The price will go up in the new year, so now is the time to jump onboard.
I hope you are getting excited for the festive season and have some time set aside for yourself.
Loads of love always,
Dawn
